Flying by...

Where has the time gone?! School has started, and we're already into the fifth week of school! Things there have went pretty well, and I have an awesome class half of which are the same kids I had last year. Which is a good thing! Noah has fun at the sitters, and comes home exhausted every day! This past week he's had a fever and a rash, but I'm sure there will be worse things we will get before this year is over. Last year, I was nursing, so I didn't worry as much about him getting to many sicknesses. I'm preparing for the worst this year. I dread the day I have to clean up puke! I'm sure we'll survive, but I won't enjoy that!
Master's classes have started up again, too. The homework load is crazy. I can't believe they make people do all this and teach and have kids and have a household to run. But we always manage every class to get through it. I think that's thanks to my prof, Kris Dobbeleare. She is a wonderful teacher and inspires me to think about the way I teach and how to be better. I would say, over all the program has been beneficial to my teaching career.
My birthday is in a couple weeks. I always remember looking forward to my birthday as a child, but the older I get, the less I look forward to them! I guess I'm still in my 20s, so I feel safe with those numbers! We're planning on a birthday party at Sheryl's new house in October.
Today we're going to the Fall Fest up in Paulding. I love going there. I always want to get a lot of stuff, but never buy anything because I'm cheap! I hope we'll see lots of people and that Noah has a good time.
Tomorrow we have potluck after church at Fred and Kayla's Manz's. Those are always a good time.
My friend, Joy, is expecting again! I'm so happy for her and pray everything in this pregnancy will go smoothly for her. Carson is watching out for his new brother or sister, I know it.
Nothing else is new, we just keep flying along...

One more precious week...

Next Monday is D-day. Noah and I went into my classroom this morning to get a few more things done. I needed to start on the name tags for my kids' desks. Got a lot done, but Kyle and I are going back tonight to finish it up. Then we are going for ice cream in Melrose. They will probably be closing up shop soon and want to take advantage of that excuse to get ice cream!
Yesterday was a great day. We decided to visit Latty for the day. I wanted to see some of my students, and just visit another church. Wonderful preachers, both from Detriot. Really had a blessed day. Noah had a slight cold, and so did I, but we managed to enjoy ourselves and the company. Sermons always encourage me to be better and to never stop living for Christ. Even though it feels like what I do will never be enough for what Jesus did for me, I in some small way try to do my best to live a Christian life. Some things I learned or remember from the sermons were about suffering in this life. Christians are suffering more than we realize on a daily basis. It's hard to make the right decisions amongst all this sin in the world. But God says he will not give us more than we are able to handle. Plus, a good point brought up, how to know if you are really at peace with God? Ask yourself, are you scared to die? If you died right now would you be scared? If you are, you need to repent and make things right with God. If you are not, then you are at peace with him. Makes it pretty simple to think about.
Could it be any more gorgeous outside?! Fall is by far my favorite season and today reminds me that it's just around the corner. I. Can't. Wait. Even though fall brings school, it still is a great time of year. I love cool weather. I find it amazing the way the seasons change at just the right time. God is in control all the time whether people choose to pay attention to Him or not. He knows what's best all the time. Isn't that comforting?
We don't have much going on this week. Going to my best friend's house tomorrow just to visit before my life turns into a whirlwind of busy-ness. Laundry and church Wednesday. Helping my aunt Sheryl move and having a birthday party for my mom, Kim, and sister-in-law, Jen. I don't want to rush the week, but I love family get togethers. Have a great rest of your day and week! God bless!

Summer's almost over...

Boy, did this summer go by fast! They always do. Noah and I had lots of quality time together, but he'll enjoy going back to Helen's to be with his friends. He'll be romping around with four other boys this year: Brady, Xavier, Brenan, and the newest addition, Jensen. I'm sure they'll have lots of great times, and a few bumps and bruises to speak of. Nonetheless, I will miss Noah like crazy and going back to work is not my idea of having fun. If I could change the world, I would be a stay at home mom who does everything perfectly and makes everything from scratch. And my house would be perfectly decorated and Noah would be perfectly well behaved. Who am I kidding?! It wouldn't be that way even it I didn't work!
I will be teaching fourth, fifth, and sixth grade Language Arts this year, with a fifth grade Reading class. I have been fourth up until this year, so the Reading class will be a new challenge for me. I have a lot of the same kids as I had last year, which is for the most part a good thing. I always worry I won't be good enough or be the boring teacher that every kid dreads. I try my best with the time that I have. I feel like my life's ranking of matter of importance goes like this: being a Christian in all ways of my life, being a great wife and mother, being a great teacher. So my time mostly gets taken up by Noah and being there for him. Teaching will have to go on a back burner until my kids are all in school (assuming we will be blessed with more kids!). Not that I don't try to do a good job, I just don't spend a ridiculous amount of time on my school work. Just the basics then back to Noah. And that's the way it should be.
My master's class starts back up again, but I feel like there is light at the end of this tunnel. Two more classes, maybe three. I'll be done next summer. Praise God He's gotten me through this far with straight A's!
Well, that's enough rambling for now, but I think this catches you up on everything in life right now!

New to this...

We'll see how much I really have time to write on this blog page!
